With the dual-sided reading technology of ClearView-CS, captured x-ray information is read simultaneously from both sides of the imaging plate (IP), resulting in 100 percent higher detective quantum efficiency (DQE), and thus lower noise. Furthermore, spatial resolution sampling for the new reader is an impressive 50-micron for both 18 x 24 cm and 24 x 30 cm size IPs and cassettes, which is the best spatial resolution produced by any digital x-ray system for general radiography, making the system well suited for extremity and pediatric imaging. The reader permits the processing of up to 165 IPs per hour when reading single side plates and up to 80 IPs per hour in dual side mode.
